Body Basics for Body Burnout:

Do your shoulders or back hurt? Do you feel tired and less than enthusiastic? If you answered yes to any one of these, then this class is for you.

Body Basics is a practical course that will teach spinal biomechanics in detail. The course will also cover the pathophysiology and biomechanics of common repetitive strain injuries to the shoulders and wrists and ways to prevent them. You will learn exactly why and how faulty body mechanics lead to arm, back and neck problems. The course will cover ways to improve your fitness by strengthening your core safely and effectively. This information will help to prevent repetitive strain injuries and allow you to have greater physical ease in your practice.

Instructor Bio: Lisa Atkins

Lisa Atkins has been a physical therapist for 15 years. 12 of those have been practicing spinal orthopedics. Her experience as a physical therapist has been augmented by working collaboratively with the Integrative Medicine and Interdisciplinary Pain Management Departments at UW Health in Madison, WI. This team of holistic MDs, psychologists, meditation instructors, massage therapists, acupuncturists and physical therapists work together to help people improve their well being. Lisa's own personal CE includes over 20 classes in holistic health practices, yoga, manual therapy and meditation.
